أَخْبَرَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ حِزَامٍ التِّرْمِذِيُّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِدْرِيسَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ أَفْلَحَ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، قَالَ أُمِرُوا أَنْ يُسَبِّحُوا، دُبُرَ كُلِّ صَلاَةٍ ثَلاَثًا وَثَلاَثِينَ وَيَحْمَدُوا ثَلاَثًا وَثَلاَثِينَ وَيُكَبِّرُوا أَرْبَعًا وَثَلاَثِينَ فَأُتِيَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ فِي مَنَامِهِ فَقِيلَ لَهُ أَمَرَكُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنْ تُسَبِّحُوا دُبُرَ كُلِّ صَلاَةٍ ثَلاَثًا وَثَلاَثِينَ وَتَحْمَدُوا ثَلاَثًا وَثَلاَثِينَ وَتُكَبِّرُوا أَرْبَعًا وَثَلاَثِينَ قَالَ نَعَمْ . قَالَ فَاجْعَلُوهَا خَمْسًا وَعِشْرِينَ وَاجْعَلُوا فِيهَا التَّهْلِيلَ فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ " اجْعَلُوهَا كَذَلِكَ " .
English Translation
It is narrated that Hadrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: "They were commanded to say the tasbih thirty-three times following the prayer, and to say the tahmid thirty-three times, and to say the takbir thirty-four times, then a man from among the Ansar was told in a dream: 'Did the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) command you to say the tasbih thirty-three times following the prayer, and to say the tahmid thirty-three times, and to say the takbir thirty-four times?' He said: 'Yes.' 'Instead of that, say each one twenty-five times, and include the tahlil among them.' The next morning he came to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and told him about that, and he said: 'Do that
Urdu Translation
حضرت زید بن ثابت رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ لوگوں کو حکم دیا گیا کہ وہ ہر نماز کے بعد تینتیس بار «سبحان اللہ» تینتیس بار «الحمد لله» اور چونتیس بار «اللہ أکبر» کہیں، پھر ایک انصاری شخص سے اس کے خواب میں پوچھا گیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے تمہیں ہر نماز کے بعد تینتیس بار «سبحان اللہ»تینتیس بار «الحمد لله» اور چونتیس بار «اللہ أکبر» کہنے کا حکم دیا ہے؟ اس نے کہا: ہاں، تو پوچھنے والے نے کہا: تم انہیں پچیس، پچیس بار کر لو، اور باقی پچیس کی جگہ «لا الٰہ إلا اللہ» کہا کرو، تو جب صبح ہوئی تو وہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس آئے، اور آپ سے سارا واقعہ بیان کیا، تو آپ نے فرمایا: اسے اسی طرح کر لو ۔
