English Translation
Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) handed over Khaybar to (the people of Khaybar) on the condition that half of whatever fruit or grain was produced would be ours and half theirs. The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to give his pure wives (may Allah be pleased with them) one hundred wasq each year: eighty (80) wasq of dates and twenty (20) of barley. When Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) became caliph and divided the properties of Khaybar, he gave the pure wives of the Prophet (peace be upon him) the choice either to take a share of land and water or to continue receiving their wasq. They differed: some took land and water, and some chose to take the wasq. The Mothers of the Believers Aishah and Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with them both) were among those who took land and water. [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 977]

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے خیبر کو (خیبر والوں کے) حوالے اس شرط پر کیا کہ جو پھل یا اناج پیدا ہو وہ آدھا ہمارا ہے اور آدھا تمہارا۔ تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماپنی ازواج مطہرات رضی اللہ عنہن کو ہر سال سو وسق دیتے، (جن میں) اسی (80) وسق کھجور کے اور بیس (20) جو کے۔ جب سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ خلیفہ بنے اور اموال خیبر کو تقسیم کیا تو نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی ازواج مطہرات رضی اللہ عنہن کو اختیار دیا کہ یا تو تم بھی زمین اور پانی کا حصہ لے لو یا اپنے وسق لیتی رہو تو وہ مختلف ہو گئیں، بعضوں نے زمین اور پانی لیا اور بعضوں نے وسق لینا منظور کیا۔ ام المؤمنین عائشہ اور حفصہ رضی اللہ عنہما نے زمین اور پانی لینے والوں میں سے تھیں۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 977]
