English Translation
Narrated Ka'b ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him): During the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), he demanded repayment of his debt from Ibn Abi Hadrad in the mosque, and their voices grew loud, until the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) heard them while he (peace be upon him) was in his house. He (peace be upon him) lifted the curtain of the chamber and came out to them and called: O Ka'b ibn Malik! He said: O Messenger of Allah! Here I am. He (peace be upon him) gestured with his hand: Remit half the debt. So Ka'b said: O Messenger of Allah! I have remitted it. Then he (peace be upon him) said to Ibn Abi Hadrad: "Get up and pay his debt." [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 961]
Urdu Translation
سیدنا کعب بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہانہوں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے عہد میں ابن ابی حدرد سے مسجد میں اپنے قرض کا تقاضہ کیا تو دونوں کی آوازیں بلند ہو گئیں، یہاں تک کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے سنا اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمگھر میں تھے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے حجرے کا پردہ اٹھایا اور باہر نکل کر ان کے پاس آئے اور پکارا کہ اے کعب بن مالک! وہ بولے کہ یا رسول اللہ! میں حاضر ہوں۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ہاتھ سے اشارہ فرمایا کہ آدھا قرضہ معاف کر دے تو سیدنا کعب نے کہا کہ یا رسول اللہ! میں نے معاف کیا۔ تب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ابن ابی حدرد سے فرمایا کہ اٹھ اور اس کا قرضہ ادا کر دے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 961]
