English Translation
Narrated Nubayh ibn Wahb: Umar ibn Ubaydullah intended to marry his son Talhah ibn Umar to the daughter of Shaybah ibn Jubayr. So he sent a messenger to Aban ibn Uthman, who was at that time the leader of the Hajj, to come as well (on the occasion of the marriage). So Aban came and said: I heard Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) say that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "A person in the state of ihram (one who has assumed the ihram for Hajj or Umrah) must neither contract his own marriage nor that of another, nor send a proposal of marriage." [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 814]
Urdu Translation
نبیہ بن وہب سے روایت ہے کہعمر بن عبیداللہ نے اپنے بیٹے طلحہ بن عمر کا نکاح شیبہ بن جبیر کی بیٹی سے کرنے کا ارادہ کیا۔ پس انہوں نے ابان بن عثمان کے پاس جو کہ اس وقت امیر حج تھے، قاصد بھیجا کہ وہ بھی (نکاح کے موقعہ پر) آئیں۔ پس ابان (آئے) اور کہا کہ میں نے سیدنا عثمان بن عفان رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا ہے وہ کہتے تھے کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا ہے کہ محرم (جس نے حج و عمرے کا احرام باندھا ہو وہ) نہ تو اپنا نکاح کرے اور نہ کسی دوسرے کا اور نہ نکاح کا پیغام بھیجے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 814]
