English Translation
Narrated 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) had two muezzins: one was Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) and the other was Ibn Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him), who was blind. So he (peace be upon him) said: "Bilal calls the adhan at night, so keep eating and drinking until Ibn Umm Maktum calls the adhan." The narrator said: There was not much interval between their two adhans; it was only as long as one would descend and the other would ascend.
Urdu Translation
سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے دو مؤذن تھے۔ ایک سیدنا بلال رضی اللہ عنہ اور دوسرے سیدنا ابن ام مکتوم رضی اللہ عنہ جو کہ نابینا تھے، تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ بلال رات کو اذان دیتے ہیں، پس تم کھاتے پیتے رہو یہاں تک کہ ابن ام مکتوم اذان دیں۔ راوی نے کہا کہ ان دونوں کی اذان میں کچھ (زیادہ) دیر نہ ہوتی تھی اتنا ہی وقت تھا کہ یہ اترے اور وہ چڑھے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 584]
