English Translation
Narrated Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him): We used to talk during the prayer, each of us speaking to the one next to him while praying, until this verse was revealed: "Stand before Allah in silence (in obedience)." From then on we were commanded to remain silent and forbidden to talk. [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 334]
Urdu Translation
سیدنا زید بن ارقم رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہہم لوگ نماز میں باتیں کیا کرتے تھے، ہر شخص اپنے پاس والے سے نماز پڑھتے پڑھتے بات کرتا تھا۔ یہاں تک کہ یہ آیت”اللہ کے سامنے چپ چاپ (فرمانبردار ہو کر) کھڑے ہو“نازل ہوئی تب سے ہمیں خاموش رہنے کا حکم ہوا اور بات کرنا منع ہو گیا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 334]
