English Translation
Narrated Amrah bint Abdur-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with her): She heard the Mother of the Believers Aishah the Truthful (may Allah be pleased with her) saying, "If the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) had seen the women adorning and beautifying themselves as in the present time, he would have forbidden them from coming to the mosque, just as the women of the Children of Israel were forbidden." (The narrator) Yahya bin Said asked the narrator Amrah (may Allah be pleased with her), "O Amrah! Were the women of the Children of Israel forbidden from coming to the mosque?" She said, "Yes."
Urdu Translation
سیدہ عمرہ بنت عبدالرحمن رضی اللہ عنہا نے ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے سنا، وہ کہتی تھیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماگر موجودہ دور کی بناؤ سنگھار کرنے والی خواتین کو دیکھتے، تو انہیں مسجد میں آنے سے روک دیتے، جیسا کہ بنی اسرائیل کی عورتیں روک دی گئی تھیں۔ (راوی) یحییٰ بن سعید نے راویہ سیدہ عمرہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے پوچھا کہ اے عمرہ! کیا بنی اسرائیل کی عورتوں کو مسجد میں آنے سے روک دیا گیا تھا؟ انہوں نے کہا ہاں۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 246]
