English Translation
Aswad bin Qais said: I heard Jundub bin Abi Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) saying that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) fell ill and did not rise for two or three nights. Then a woman (Awra bint Harb, the sister of Abu Sufyan, the wife of Abu Lahab, Hammalat al-Hatab) came and said, "O Muhammad! I think your devil has left you" (this the she-devil said in mockery), "because I see that for two or three nights he has not come to you." Then Allah the Exalted revealed this Surah: "By the bright morning, and by the night when it grows still with tranquility, your Lord has neither forsaken you nor is He displeased." [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2177]
Urdu Translation
اسود بن قیس کہتے ہیں کہمیں نے سیدنا جندب بن ابی سفیان رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا، وہ کہتے تھے کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمبیمار ہو گئے تو دو تین رات تک نہیں اٹھے پھر ایک عورت (عوراء بنت حرب، ابوسفیان کی بہن ابولہب کی بیوی حمالۃ الحطب) آئی اور کہنے لگی کہ اے محمد! میں سمجھتی ہوں کہ تمہارے شیطان نے تمہیں چھوڑ دیا ہے (یہ اس شیطاننی نے ہنسی سے کہا) کیونکہ میں دیکھتی ہوں کہ دو تین رات سے تمہارے پاس نہیں آیا۔ تب اللہ تعالیٰ نے یہ سورت اتاری”قسم ہے روز روشن کی اور رات کی جب کہ وہ سکون کے ساتھ چھا جائے، تمہارے رب نے نہ تمہیں چھوڑا ہے اور نہ وہ ناراض ہوا ہے“۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2177]
