English Translation
Sayyiduna Qays ibn Ubad said: I heard Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) swearing an oath (regarding this verse of Surat al-Hajj): "These are two adversaries who dispute concerning their Lord" — indeed, this was revealed concerning those who came out to fight (from the ranks) on behalf of the Muslims on the day of Badr: the chief of the martyrs Sayyiduna Hamza, Sayyiduna Ali al-Murtada, and Ubayda ibn al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with them); and on the side of the disbelievers, Utba and Shayba, the two sons of Rabi'a, and al-Walid ibn Utba.
Urdu Translation
سیدنا قیس بن عباد کہتے ہیں کہمیں نے سیدنا ابوذر رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا، وہ (سورۃ الحج کی اس آیت کے متعلق) قسم کھاتے تھے کہ”یعنی یہ دونوں گروہ ایک دوسرے کے دشمن ہیں، جو اپنے رب کے بارے میں لڑتے ہیں“بیشک یہ ان لوگوں کے حق میں اتری ہے جو بدر کے دن مسلمانوں کی طرف سے (صف سے) لڑنے کے لئے باہر نکلے تھے۔ سیدالشہداء سیدنا حمزہ، سیدنا علی مرتضی اور عبیدہ بن حارث رضی اللہ عنہما اور کافروں کی طرف سے عتبہ اور شیبہ دونوں ربیعہ کے بیٹے اور ولید بن عتبہ۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2152]
