English Translation
It is narrated from Sayyiduna 'Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: Some captives were brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and among them was a woman searching (for her child). When she found her child, she picked it up, pressed it to her belly, and began nursing it. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to us, "Do you think this woman would throw her child into the fire?" We said, "By Allah! She would never do so." He (peace be upon him) said: "Allah is more merciful to His servants than this woman is to her child."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے کہا کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس قیدی آئے تو ان میں سے ایک عورت (اپنا بچہ) تلاش کر رہی تھی۔ جب اپنا بچہ پا لیا تو اس کو اٹھا لیا اور پیٹ سے لگایا اور دودھ پلانے لگی۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ہم سے فرمایا کہ تم کیا سمجھتے ہو کہ یہ عورت اپنے بچہ کو آگ میں ڈال دے گی؟ ہم نے کہا کہ اللہ کی قسم! وہ کبھی نہ ڈال سکے گی۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ البتہ اللہ تعالیٰ اپنے بندوں پر اس سے زیادہ مہربان ہے، جتنی یہ عورت اپنے بچے پر مہربان ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1926]
