English Translation
Suhayl said: When any of us went to sleep, Abu Salih would command him to sleep on his right side and to recite this supplication: "O Allah! Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth, Lord of the Mighty Throne, our Lord and Lord of all things, Splitter of the grain and the date-stone (for growing trees), Revealer of the Torah, the Gospel, and the noble Qur'an! I seek refuge in You from the evil of every thing whose forelock You hold (that is, which is in Your control). You are the First, so there is nothing before You; You are the Last, so there is nothing after You (that is, You are Eternal without beginning and without end); You are the Manifest, so there is nothing above You; and You are the Hidden, so there is nothing nearer than You (that is, more concealed). Remove from us debt and free us from poverty." Abu Salih used to narrate this supplication from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah narrated it from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).
Urdu Translation
سہیل کہتے ہیں کہجب ہم میں کوئی سونے لگتا تو ابوصالح اسے داہنی کروٹ پر سونے اور یہ دعا پڑھنے کا حکم دیتے کہ”اے اللہ! آسمانوں کے مالک اور زمین کے مالک، عرش عظیم کے مالک، ہمارے اور ہر چیز کے مالک، دانے اور گٹھلی کو (درخت اگانے کے لئے) چیرنے والے اور تورات، انجیل اور قرآن مجید کے اتارنے والے! میں ہر چیز کے شر سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں جس کی پیشانی کو تو تھامے ہوئے ہے (یعنی تیرے اختیار میں ہے)۔ تو سب سے پہلے ہے کہ تیرے سے پہلے کوئی شے نہیں، تو سب کے بعد ہے کہ تیرے بعد کوئی شے نہیں (یعنی ازلی اور ابدی ہے)، تو ظاہر ہے کہ تیرے اوپر کوئی شے نہیں اور تو باطن ہے (یعنی لوگوں کی نظروں سے چھپا ہوا ہے) کہ تجھ سے ورے کوئی شے نہیں (یعنی تجھ سے زیادہ چھپی ہوئی)، ہم سے قرض دور کر دے اور ہمیں فقر سے مستغنی کر دے۔ ابوصالح اس دعا کو سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کرتے تھے اور سیدنا ابوہریرہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے روایت کرتے تھے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1899]
