English Translation
The Mother of the Believers, Aisha the Truthful (may Allah be pleased with her), said: A woman came to me with her two daughters. She asked me (for something), and I had nothing but a single date, so I gave it to her. She took that date, split it into two pieces, and gave one piece to each of her two daughters, and ate nothing herself. Then she got up and left. After that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came, and I related this woman's situation to him (peace be upon him), and the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Whoever is tried with (the raising of) daughters (that is, rears them, teaches them the religion, and marries them to a righteous man), they will be a shield for him from the Fire on the Day of Resurrection.
Urdu Translation
ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہمیرے پاس ایک عورت آئی اس کی دو بیٹیاں اس کے ساتھ تھیں، اس نے مجھ سے سوال کیا تو میرے پاس ایک کھجور کے سوا کچھ نہ تھا تو وہی میں نے اس کو دیدی۔ اس نے وہ کھجور لے کر دو ٹکڑے کئے اور ایک ایک ٹکڑا دونوں بیٹیوں کو دیا اور خود کچھ نہ کھایا۔ پھر اٹھی اور چلی گئی۔ اس کے بعد رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمتشریف لائے تو میں نے اس عورت کا حال آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے بیان کیا تو نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ جو شخص بیٹیوں میں مبتلا ہو (یعنی ان کو پالے اور انہیں دین کی تعلیم کرے اور نیک شخص سے نکاح کر دے) تو وہ قیامت کے دن جہنم سے اس کی آڑ بن جائیں گی۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1760]
