English Translation
Sayyiduna Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I came to Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said to me: The first charity by which the faces of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and his (peace be upon him) companions were made to shine (that is, made them glad) was the charity of (the tribe of) Tayy. (And he said:) It was you (that is, Adi bin Hatim) who brought that charity to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).
Urdu Translation
سیدنا عدی بن حاتم رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہمیں سیدنا عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس آیا تو انہوں نے مجھ سے کہا کہ سب سے پہلا صدقہ جس نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے اصحاب کے چہروں کو چمکا دیا (یعنی ان کو خوش کر دیا، قبیلہ) طئی کا صدقہ تھا۔ (اور کہا کہ) وہ صدقہ تم (یعنی عدی بن حاتم) رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس لے کر آئے تھے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1735]
