English Translation

It is narrated from the Mother of the Believers, Aisha the Truthful (may Allah be pleased with her): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Satirize Quraysh, for satire is more grievous to them than a volley of arrows. Then he (peace be upon him) sent a man to Sayyiduna Ibn Rawaha (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: Satirize Quraysh. He satirized them, but it did not please him (peace be upon him). Then he sent to Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him). Then he sent to Sayyiduna Hassan bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him). When Sayyiduna Hassan came to him (peace be upon him), he said: The time has come upon you that you have summoned the lion that strikes with its tail (that is, that kills people with its tongue; as though he is a lion in the field of eloquence and poetry). Then he put out his tongue and began to wag it and said: By Him who sent you (peace be upon him) as the true Prophet, I will tear the disbelievers apart with my tongue as leather is torn apart. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: O Hassan! Do not be hasty, for Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) knows the lineage of Quraysh well, and my lineage too is Quraysh, so he will single out my lineage for you. Then Hassan came to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), then after that returned and said: O Messenger of Allah! Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) has explained your (peace be upon him) lineage to me. By Him who sent you (peace be upon him) as the true Prophet, I will pluck you (peace be upon him) out from Quraysh as a hair is plucked out from dough. The Mother of the Believers, Aisha the Truthful (may Allah be pleased with her), said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saying to Hassan: The Holy Spirit will continue to aid you so long as you answer on behalf of Allah and His Messenger. And the Mother of the Believers, Aisha the Truthful (may Allah be pleased with her), said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saying: Hassan satirized Quraysh, and so he healed the hearts of the believers and destroyed the honor of the disbelievers. Hassan said: You reviled Muhammad (peace be upon him), so I answered it, and Allah the Exalted will requite it. You reviled Muhammad (peace be upon him), who is good and pious; he is the Messenger of Allah the Exalted, and faithfulness is his nature. My fathers and forefathers and my honor are a ransom for the honor of Muhammad (peace be upon him). If you do not see the dust rising from both sides of Kada (the pass at the gate of Makkah), then let me lose my life — she-camels straining at their reins and climbing upward by their strength and might, upon whose shoulders are lances that are slender or thirsting for blood; and our horses will come galloping, their faces wiped by the women with their veils. If you do not speak to us, then we will perform Umrah, and there will be victory and the veil will be lifted. Otherwise, wait for the blow of that day on which Allah the Exalted will give honor to whom He wills. And Allah the Exalted has said: I have prepared an army, which is the army of the Ansar, whose sport is to confront the disbelievers. And Allah the Exalted has said: I have sent a servant who speaks the truth; in his speech there is no doubt. Every day we are in one preparation or another — reviling of the disbelievers, or battle, or satire of the disbelievers. Whoever among you satirizes the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and whoever praises him or aids him — they are not all equal. Urdu Translation

ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: قریش کی ہجو کرو کیونکہ ہجو ان کو تیروں کی بوچھاڑ سے زیادہ ناگوار ہے۔ پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ایک شخص کو سیدنا ابن رواحہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس بھیجا اور فرمایا کہ قریش کی ہجو کرو۔ انہوں نے ہجو کی لیکن آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو پسند نہ آئی۔ پھر سیدنا کعب بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس بھیجا۔ پھر سیدنا حسان بن ثابت رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس بھیجا۔ جب سیدنا حسان آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس آئے تو انہوں نے کہا کہ تم پر وہ وقت آ گیا کہ تم نے اس شیر کو بلا بھیجا جو اپنی دم سے مارتا ہے (یعنی اپنی زبان سے لوگوں کو قتل کرتا ہے گویا میدان فصاحت اور شعر گوئی کے شیر ہیں)۔ پھر اپنی زبان باہر نکالی اور اس کو ہلانے لگے اور عرض کیا کہ قسم اس کی جس نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو سچا پیغمبر کر کے بھیجا ہے میں کافروں کو اپنی زبان سے اس طرح پھاڑ ڈالوں گا جیسے چمڑے کو پھاڑ ڈالتے ہیں۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اے حسان! جلدی مت کر! کیونکہ ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ قریش کے نسب کو بخوبی جانتے ہیں اور میرا بھی نسب قریش ہی ہیں، تو وہ میرا نسب تجھے علیحدہ کر دیں گے۔ پھر حسان سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس آئے، پھر اس کے بعد لوٹے اور عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکا نسب مجھ سے بیان کر دیا ہے، قسم اس کی جس نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو سچا پیغمبر کر کے بھیجا، میں آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو قریش میں سے ایسا نکال لوں گا جیسے بال آٹے میں سے نکال لیا جاتا ہے۔ ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے سنا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمحسان سے فرماتے تھے کہ روح القدس ہمیشہ تیری مدد کرتے رہیں گے جب تک تو اللہ اور اس کے رسول کی طرف سے جواب دیتا رہے گا۔ اور ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا کہ میں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے سنا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمفرماتے تھے کہ حسان نے قریش کی ہجو کی تو مومنوں کے دلوں کو شفاء دی اور کافروں کی عزتوں کو تباہ کر دیا۔ حسان نے کہا کہتو نے محمدصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی برائی کی تو میں نے اس کا جواب دیا اور اللہ تعالیٰ اس کا بدلہ دے گا۔تو نے محمدصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی برائی کی جو نیک اور پرہیزگار ہیں، اللہ تعالیٰ کے رسولصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمہیں اور وفاداری ان کی خصلت ہے۔میرے باپ دادا اور میری آبرو محمدصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی آبرو بچانے کے لئے قربان ہیں۔اگر کداء (مکہ کے دروازہ پر گھاٹی) کے دونوں جانب سے غبار اڑتا ہو نہ دیکھو تو میں اپنی جان کو کھوؤں۔ایسی اونٹنیاں جو باگوں پر زور کریں گی اور اپنی قوت اور طاقت سے اوپر چڑھتی ہوئیں، ان کے کندھوں پر وہ برچھے ہیں جو باریک ہیں یا خون کی پیاسی ہیں اور ہمارے گھوڑے دوڑتے ہوئے آئیں گے، ان کے منہ عورتیں اپنے دوپٹوں سے پونچھتی ہیں۔اگر تم ہم سے نہ بولو تو ہم عمرہ کر لیں گے اور فتح ہو جائے گی اور پردہ اٹھ جائے گا۔نہیں تو اس دن کی مار کے لئے صبر کرو جس دن اللہ تعالیٰ جس کو چاہے گا عزت دے گا۔اور اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا کہ میں نے ایک لشکر تیار کیا ہے جو انصار کا لشکر ہے، جس کا کھیل کافروں سے مقابلہ کرنا ہے۔اور اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا کہ میں نے ایک بندہ بھیجا جو سچ کہتا ہے اس کی بات میں کچھ شبہہ نہیں ہے۔ہم تو ہر روز ایک نہ ایک تیاری میں ہیں، گالی گلوچ ہے کافروں سے یا لڑائی ہے یا کافروں کی ہجو ہے۔تم میں سے جو کوئی اللہ کے رسولصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی ہجو کرے اور ان کی تعریف کرے یا مدد کرے وہ سب برابر ہیں۔جبرائیل اللہ کے رسول ہم میں ہیں اور روح القدس جن کا کوئی مثل نہیں ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1716]ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: قریش کی ہجو کرو کیونکہ ہجو ان کو تیروں کی بوچھاڑ سے زیادہ ناگوار ہے۔ پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ایک شخص کو سیدنا ابن رواحہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس بھیجا اور فرمایا کہ قریش کی ہجو کرو۔ انہوں نے ہجو کی لیکن آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو پسند نہ آئی۔ پھر سیدنا کعب بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس بھیجا۔ پھر سیدنا حسان بن ثابت رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس بھیجا۔ جب سیدنا حسان آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس آئے تو انہوں نے کہا کہ تم پر وہ وقت آ گیا کہ تم نے اس شیر کو بلا بھیجا جو اپنی دم سے مارتا ہے (یعنی اپنی زبان سے لوگوں کو قتل کرتا ہے گویا میدان فصاحت اور شعر گوئی کے شیر ہیں)۔ پھر اپنی زبان باہر نکالی اور اس کو ہلانے لگے اور عرض کیا کہ قسم اس کی جس نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو سچا پیغمبر کر کے بھیجا ہے میں کافروں کو اپنی زبان سے اس طرح پھاڑ ڈالوں گا جیسے چمڑے کو پھاڑ ڈالتے ہیں۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اے حسان! سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکا نسب مجھ سے بیان کر دیا ہے، قسم اس کی جس نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو سچا پیغمبر کر کے بھیجا، میں آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو قریش میں سے ایسا نکال لوں گا جیسے بال آٹے میں سے نکال لیا جاتا ہے۔ ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے سنا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمحسان سے فرماتے تھے کہ روح القدس ہمیشہ تیری مدد کرتے رہیں گے جب تک تو اللہ اور اس کے رسول کی طرف سے جواب دیتا رہے گا۔ اور ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا کہ میں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے سنا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمفرماتے تھے کہ حسان نے قریش کی ہجو کی تو مومنوں کے دلوں کو شفاء دی اور کافروں کی عزتوں کو تباہ کر دیا۔ حسان نے کہا کہتو نے محمدصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی برائی کی تو میں نے اس کا جواب دیا اور اللہ تعالیٰ اس کا بدلہ دے گا۔تو نے محمدصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی برائی کی جو نیک اور پرہیزگار ہیں، اللہ تعالیٰ کے رسولصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمہیں اور وفاداری ان کی خصلت ہے۔میرے باپ دادا اور میری آبرو محمدصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی آبرو بچانے کے لئے قربان ہیں۔اگر کداء (مکہ کے دروازہ پر گھاٹی) کے دونوں جانب سے غبار اڑتا ہو نہ دیکھو تو میں اپنی جان کو کھوؤں۔ایسی اونٹنیاں جو باگوں پر زور کریں گی اور اپنی قوت اور طاقت سے اوپر چڑھتی ہوئیں، ان کے کندھوں پر وہ برچھے ہیں جو باریک ہیں یا خون کی پیاسی ہیں اور ہمارے گھوڑے دوڑتے ہوئے آئیں گے، ان کے منہ عورتیں اپنے دوپٹوں سے پونچھتی ہیں۔اگر تم ہم سے نہ بولو تو ہم عمرہ کر لیں گے اور فتح ہو جائے گی اور پردہ اٹھ جائے گا۔نہیں تو اس دن کی مار کے لئے صبر کرو جس دن اللہ تعالیٰ جس کو چاہے گا عزت دے گا۔اور اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا کہ میں نے ایک لشکر تیار کیا ہے جو انصار کا لشکر ہے، جس کا کھیل کافروں سے مقابلہ کرنا ہے۔اور اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا کہ میں نے ایک بندہ بھیجا جو سچ کہتا ہے اس کی بات میں کچھ شبہہ نہیں ہے۔ہم تو ہر روز ایک نہ ایک تیاری میں ہیں، گالی گلوچ ہے کافروں سے یا لڑائی ہے یا کافروں کی ہجو ہے۔تم میں سے جو کوئی اللہ کے رسولصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی ہجو کرے اور ان کی تعریف کرے یا مدد کرے وہ سب برابر ہیں۔جبرائیل اللہ کے رسول ہم میں ہیں اور روح القدس جن کا کوئی مثل نہیں ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1716]
