English Translation
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: In the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), four men compiled the Qur'an, and all four were of the Ansar: Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal, Ubayy bin Ka'b, Zayd bin Thabit, and Abu Zayd (may Allah be pleased with them). Qatada said: I asked Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): Who is Abu Zayd? He said: He was one of my paternal uncles.
Urdu Translation
سیدنا انس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے زمانے میں چار شخصوں نے قرآن کو جمع کیا اور وہ چاروں انصاری تھے۔ سیدنا معاذ بن جبل، ابی بن کعب، زید بن ثابت اور ابوزید رضی اللہ عنہما۔ قتادہ نے کہا کہ میں نے سیدنا انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہا کہ ابوزید کون ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ میرے چچاؤں میں سے ایک تھے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1703]
