English Translation
Narrated Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas, the conqueror of Persia (may Allah be pleased with him): Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) sought permission to enter upon the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and at that time some women of the Quraysh were sitting with him, talking to him, talking a great deal, and their voices were raised. When Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) gave his voice, they got up and rushed to hide. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) gave Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) permission, and he was smiling. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "May Allah keep you laughing, O Messenger of Allah." He (peace be upon him) said, "I am amazed at these women who were sitting with me; as soon as they heard your voice they rushed behind the veil." Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah, they ought to fear you more." Then he said to those women, "O enemies of your own souls, do you fear me and not fear the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)?" They said, "Yes, you are harsher and more short-tempered than the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "By Him in whose hand is my soul, whenever Satan meets you walking on a path, he leaves the path on which you are walking and takes another path." Urdu Translation
فاتح ایران سیدنا سعد بن ابی وقاص رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہسیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے اندر آنے کی اجازت مانگی اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس اس وقت قریش کی عورتیں بیٹھی تھیں اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے باتیں کر رہی تھیں اور بہت باتیں کر رہی تھیں اور ان کی آوازیں بلند تھیں۔ جب سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے آواز دی تو اٹھ کر چھپنے کے لئے دوڑیں رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کو اجازت دی اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلممسکرا رہے تھے۔ سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو ہنستا رکھے یا رسول اللہ! آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ مجھے ان عورتوں پر تعجب ہوا جو میرے پاس بیٹھی تھیں، تمہاری آواز سنتے ہی پردے میں بھاگ گئیں۔ سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! ان کو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے زیادہ ڈرنا چاہئے پھر ان عورتوں سے کہا کہ اے اپنی جان کی دشمنو! تم مجھ سے ڈرتی ہو اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے نہیں ڈرتیں؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہاں تم رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے بہ نسبت سخت ہو اور غصیلے ہو۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ قسم اس کی جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے کہ شیطان جب تمہیں کسی راہ میں چلتا ہوا ملتا ہے تو اس راہ کو جس میں تم چلتے ہو چھوڑ کر دوسری راہ میں چلا جاتا ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1633]
