English Translation
Narrated Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "We have more right to doubt than Ibrahim (peace be upon him), when he said, 'My Lord, show me how You give life to the dead.' Allah said, 'Do you not believe?' Ibrahim (peace be upon him) said, 'Why not? I do believe, but I wish that my heart may be at ease' (that from the knowledge of certainty he might attain the rank of the vision of certainty). (al-Baqarah: 260) And may Allah have mercy on Lut (peace be upon him); he sought refuge in a strong and firm support (that is, a prophet asks of Allah, whereas Lut, peace be upon him, wished for a strong pillar). And if I had remained in prison as long as Yusuf (peace be upon him) remained, I would have come at once with the one who summoned." [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1608]
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: ہم ابراہیم علیہ السلام سے شک کرنے کا زیادہ حق رکھتے ہیں، جب انہوں نے کہا کہ”اے میرے رب! مجھے دکھلا دے کہ تو مردوں کو کس طرح زندہ کرتا ہے؟ اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا کہ کیا تجھے یقین نہیں ہے؟ سیدنا ابراہیم علیہ السلام بولے کہ کیوں نہیں؟ مجھے یقین ہے لیکن میں چاہتا ہوں کہ میرے دل کو تشفی ہو جائے“(علم الییقن سے عین الیقین کا مرتبہ حاصل ہو جائے (۔ (البقرہ: 260) اور اللہ تعالیٰ لوط علیہ السلام پر رحم کرے، وہ مضبوط اور سخت چیز کی پناہ چاہتے تھے اور (یعنی نبی تو اللہ سے مانگتا ہے جبکہ لوط علیہ السلام مضبوط رکن کی خواہش کر رہے تھے)۔ اور اگر میں قید خانے میں اتنی مدت رہتا جتنی مدت سیدنا یوسف علیہ السلام رہے، تو فوراً بلانے والے کے ساتھ چلا آتا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1608]
