English Translation
Narrated Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Any army or detachment that fights in jihad, then gains spoils and returns safe, has received two-thirds of its reward of the Hereafter in this world. And any army or detachment that returns empty-handed and suffers loss (that is, is wounded or killed) will receive its full reward in the Hereafter." [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1091]
Urdu Translation
سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمرو بن عاص رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: کوئی لشکر یا فوج کا ٹکڑا جہاد کرے، پھر غنیمت حاصل کرے اور سلامت رہے، تو اس کو آخرت کے ثواب میں سے دو تہائی دنیا میں مل گیا اور جو لشکر یا فوج کا ٹکڑا خالی ہاتھ آئے اور نقصان اٹھائے (یعنی زخمی ہو جائے یا مارا جائے)، تو اس کو آخرت میں پورا ثواب ملے گا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1091]
