English Translation
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he said: "Allah's prophet Sulayman bin Dawud (peace be upon him) said: 'Tonight I will go around to seventy women (in one narration ninety, in one ninety-nine, and in one a hundred), each of whom will bear a boy who will fight in the way of Allah.' His companion, or the angel, said: 'Say, if Allah wills.' But he did not say it; he forgot. Then not one of the women bore a child except one, and that too was half a child." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Had he said 'if Allah wills,' his wish would not have been in vain, and his purpose would have been fulfilled." Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے روایت کرتے ہوئے کہتے ہیں کہآپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: اللہ کے نبی سلیمان بن داؤد علیہ السلام نے کہا کہ میں آج رات ستر عورتوں کے پاس جاؤں گا (ایک روایت میں نوے ہیں، ایک میں ننانوے اور ایک میں سو) ہر ایک ان میں سے ایک لڑکا جنے گی، جو اللہ کی راہ میں جہاد کرے گا۔ ان کے ساتھی یا فرشتے نے کہا کہ انشاءاللہ تعالیٰ کہو۔ لیکن انہوں نے نہیں کہا، وہ بھول گئے۔ پھر کسی عورت نے بچہ نہ جنا سوائے ایک کے اور وہ بھی آدھا بچہ۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اگر وہ انشاءاللہ کہتے تو ان کی بات رد نہ جاتی اور ان کا مطلب پورا ہو جاتا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1014]
