Hadrat Abu Bakra reported that (in the Farewell Address) Allah's Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated:Time has completed a cycle and come to the state of the day when Allah created the heavens and the earth. The year is constituted of twelve months, of which four are sacred; three of them consecutive, viz. Dhu'l-Qa'da, Dhu'l- Hijja and Muharram, and also Rajab the month of Mudar which comes between Jumada and Sha'ban. He (the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)) then said: which month is this? We said Allah and His Messenger know best. He (the narrator) said: He (the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)) remained silent for some time until we thought that he would give it a name other than that (by which it was known). He said: Is it not Dha'l-Hijja? We said: Yes. He (the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)) said: Which city is this? We said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He (the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)y remained silent until we thought that he would give it another name. He (the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)) said: Is it not the Balda (the city of Mecca)? We said: Yes. He said: What day is this? We said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He (the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)) remained silent until we thought that he would give it another name. He said: Is it not the Day of Sacrifice? We said: the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). yes. Thereupon he said: Your blood, your property (Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), one of the narrators, said: I think, he also said this) and your honour are sacred to you like the sacredness of this day of yours, in this city of yours, and in this month of yours. You will soon meet your Lord and He will ask you about your deeds. So do not turn after me unbelievers (or misguided), some of you striking the necks of the others. Behold I let him who is present convey to him who is absent, for many a one whom a message is conveyed has a more retentive memory than one who hears. He again said: Behold! have I not delivered (the message) to you? This hadith has been narrated through another chain of transmitters, but with a slight variation of words
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوبکر بن ابی شیبہ اور یحییٰ بن حبیب حارثی ۔ ۔ دونوں کے الفاظ قریب قریب ہیں ۔ ۔ دونوں نے کہا : ہمیں عبدالوہاب ثقفی نے ایوب سے حدیث بیان کی ، انہوں نے ابن سیرین سے ، انہوں نے ابن ابی بکرہ سے ، انہوں نے حضرت ابوبکرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے اور انہوں نے نبی صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے روایت کی کہ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا : "" بلاشبہ زمانہ گھوم کر اپنی اسی حالت پر آ گیا ہے ( جو اس دن تھی ) جس دن اللہ نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو پیدا کیا تھا ۔ سال کے بارہ مہینے ہیں ، ان میں سے چار حرمت والے ہیں ، تین لگاتار ہیں : ذوالقعدہ ، ذوالحجہ اور محرم اور ( ان کے علاوہ ) رجب جو مضر کا مہینہ ہے ، ( جس کی حرمت کا قبیلہ مضر قائل ہے ) جو جمادیٰ اور شعبان کے درمیان ہے ۔ "" اس کے بعد آپ نے پوچھا : "" ( آج ) یہ کون سا مہینہ ہے؟ "" ہم نے کہا : اللہ اور اس کا رسول زیادہ جاننے والے ہیں ۔ کہا : آپ خاموش ہو گئے حتی کہ ہم نے خیال کیا کہ آپ اسے اس کے ( معروف ) نام کے بجائے کوئی اور نام دیں گے ۔ ( پھر ) آپ نے فرمایا : "" کیا یہ ذوالحجہ نہیں ہے؟ "" ہم نے جواب دیا : کیوں نہیں! ( پھر ) آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے پوچھا : "" یہ کون سا شہر ہے؟ "" ہم نے جواب دیا : اللہ اور اس کا رسول سب سے بڑھ کر جاننے والے ہیں ۔ کہا : آپ خاموش رہے حتی کہ ہم نے خیال کیا کہ آپ اس کے ( معروف ) نام سے ہٹ کر اسے کوئی اور نام دیں گے ، ( پھر ) آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے پوچھا : "" کیا یہ البلدہ ( حرمت والا شہر ) نہیں؟ "" ہم نے جواب دیا : کیوں نہیں! ( پھر ) آپ نے پوچھا : "" یہ کون سا دن ہے؟ "" ہم نے جواب دیا : اللہ اور اس کا رسول سب سے بڑھ کر جاننے والے ہیں ۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا : "" کیا یہ یوم النحر ( قربانی کا دن ) نہیں ہے؟ "" ہم نے جواب دیا : کیوں نہیں ، اللہ کے رسول! ( پھر ) آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا : "" بلاشبہ تمہارے خون ، تمہارے مال ۔ ۔ محمد ( بن سیرین ) نے کہا : میرا خیال ہے ، انہوں نے کہا : ۔ ۔ اور تمہاری عزت تمہارے لیے اسی طرح حرمت والے ہیں جس طرح اس مہینے میں ، اس شہر میں تمہارا یہ دن حرمت والا ہے ، اور عنقریب تم اپنے رب سے ملو گے اور وہ تم سے تمہارے اعمال کے بارے میں پوچھے گا ، تم میرے بعد ہرگز دوبارہ گمراہ نہ ہو جانا کہ ایک دوسرے کی گردنیں مارنے لگو ، سنو! جو شخص یہاں موجود ہے وہ اس شخص تک یہ پیغام پہنچا دے جو یہاں موجود نہیں ، ممکن ہے جس کو یہ پیغام پہنچایا جائے وہ اسے اس آدمی سے زیادہ یاد رکھنے والا ہو جس نے اسے ( خود مجھ سے ) سنا ہے ۔ "" پھر فرمایا : "" سنو! کیا میں نے ( اللہ کا پیغام ) ٹھیک طور پر پہنچا دیا ہے؟ "" ابن حبیب نے اپنی روایت میں "" مضر کا رجب "" کہا : اور حضرت ابوبکر کی روایت میں ( "" تم میرے بعد ہرگز دوبارہ "" کے بجائے ) "" میرے بعد دوبارہ "" ( تاکید کے بغیر ) ہے

( پھر ) آپ نے پوچھا : "" یہ کون سا دن ہے؟ "" ہم نے جواب دیا : اللہ اور اس کا رسول سب سے بڑھ کر جاننے والے ہیں ۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا : "" کیا یہ یوم النحر ( قربانی کا دن ) نہیں ہے؟ "" ہم نے جواب دیا : کیوں نہیں ، اللہ کے رسول!
