وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ وَأَنَا أُرَى، أَنَّ عِنْدَهُ، مِنْهُ عِلْمًا . فَقَالَ إِنَّ هِلاَلَ بْنَ أُمَيَّةَ قَذَفَ امْرَأَتَهُ بِشَرِيكِ ابْنِ سَحْمَاءَ وَكَانَ أَخَا الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ لأُمِّهِ وَكَانَ أَوَّلَ رَجُلٍ لاَعَنَ فِي الإِسْلاَمِ - قَالَ - فَلاَعَنَهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " أَبْصِرُوهَا فَإِنْ جَاءَتْ بِهِ أَبْيَضَ سَبِطًا قَضِيءَ الْعَيْنَيْنِ فَهُوَ لِهِلاَلِ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ وَإِنْ جَاءَتْ بِهِ أَكْحَلَ جَعْدًا حَمْشَ السَّاقَيْنِ فَهُوَ لِشَرِيكِ ابْنِ سَحْمَاءَ " . قَالَ فَأُنْبِئْتُ أَنَّهَا جَاءَتْ بِهِ أَكْحَلَ جَعْدًا حَمْشَ السَّاقَيْنِ .
English Translation
Muhammad (ibn Sirin) (upon him be mercy) reported: I asked Hadrat Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be well pleased with him) — thinking that he had knowledge (of the incident of li'an). He said: Hadrat Hilal ibn Umayya (may Allah be well pleased with him) accused his wife of committing adultery with Sharik ibn Sahma. And Hadrat Hilal (may Allah be well pleased with him) was the half-brother (from the mother's side) of Hadrat Bara' ibn Malik (may Allah be well pleased with him), and he was the first person to invoke the curse (li'an) in Islam. He said: Then both of them invoked the curse, and the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'Watch this woman. If she gives birth to a white-skinned child with straight hair and reddish eyes, then he belongs to Hadrat Hilal ibn Umayya (may Allah be well pleased with him). And if she gives birth to a child with dark eyes, curly hair, and thin calves, then he belongs to Sharik ibn Sahma.' He said: Then I was informed that she gave birth to a child with dark eyes, curly hair, and thin calves.
Urdu Translation
محمد (بن سیرین) رحمۃ اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ سے روایت ہے، فرماتے ہیں: میں نے حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے پوچھا — یہ سمجھ کر کہ انہیں (لعان کے واقعے کا) علم ہے۔ انہوں نے فرمایا: حضرت ہلال بن امیہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے اپنی بیوی پر شریک ابن سحماء کے ساتھ (بدکاری کی) تہمت لگائی۔ اور حضرت ہلال رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ حضرت براء بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے ماں شریک بھائی تھے اور اسلام میں سب سے پہلے لعان کرنے والے شخص تھے۔ فرماتے ہیں: پھر دونوں نے لعان کیا تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: "اس عورت کو دیکھتے رہو۔ اگر وہ سفید رنگ کا، سیدھے بالوں والا، سُرخ آنکھوں والا بچہ جنے تو وہ حضرت ہلال بن امیہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کا ہے، اور اگر سُرمئی آنکھوں والا، گھنگریالے بالوں والا، پتلی پنڈلیوں والا جنے تو وہ شریک ابن سحماء کا ہے۔" فرماتے ہیں: پھر مجھے خبر ملی کہ اس نے سُرمئی آنکھوں والا، گھنگریالے بالوں والا، پتلی پنڈلیوں والا بچہ جنا۔
