Arabic (Original)
وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقْرَأُ فِي الظُّهْرِ بِـ { اللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى} وَفِي الْعَصْرِ نَحْوَ ذَلِكَ وَفِي الصُّبْحِ أَطْوَلَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ .
English Translation
Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, Hadrat Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, Shu'ba narrated to us from Simak, who narrated from Hadrat Jabir ibn Samura (may Allah be well pleased with him), who said: The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to recite in the noon prayer 'By the night when it envelopes' [Surah al-Layl, 92], and in the Asr prayer something similar, and in the Fajr prayer he would recite longer than that.
Urdu Translation
ہمیں محمد بن مثنیٰ نے حدیث بیان کی، کہا ہمیں عبد الرحمٰن بن مہدی نے حدیث بیان کی، کہا ہمیں شعبہ نے سماک سے حدیث بیان کی، انہوں نے حضرت جابر بن سمرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی، انہوں نے فرمایا: نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ظہر کی نماز میں ﴿وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ﴾ (قسم ہے رات کی جب چھا جائے) پڑھتے، عصر میں بھی ایسی ہی کوئی سورت پڑھتے اور فجر کی نماز میں اس سے لمبی (سورت) پڑھتے تھے۔
