وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَوْ كُنْتُ مُتَّخِذًا خَلِيلًا لَاتَّخَذْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ خَلِيلًا وَلَكِنَّهُ أَخِي وَصَاحِبِي وَقَدِ اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ صَاحِبَكُمْ خَلِيلًا». رَوَاهُ مُسلم
English Translation
'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) when Abu Bakr and 'Umar approached. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "These two are the masters of the elders of the people of Paradise, from the first to the last, except for the prophets and messengers. O 'Ali, do not tell them." Reported by Tirmidhi, and he said: This is a hasan gharib hadith.
Urdu Translation
عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ، نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے روایت کرتے ہیں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا:”اگر میں کسی کو خلیل (جگری دوست) بناتا تو میں ابوبکر کو دوست بناتا، لیکن وہ میرے بھائی اور میرے ساتھی ہیں اور اللہ تمہارے ساتھی کو خلیل بنا چکا ہے۔“رواہ مسلم۔[مشكوة المصابيح/كتاب المناقب/حدیث: 6020]
