English Translation
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stood on the pulpit and said: "What I fear most for you is what Allah brings forth for you of the blessings of the earth." A man said: "O Messenger of Allah, can good bring about evil?" The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) remained silent, and it was said to the questioner: "What is wrong with you? You speak to the Messenger of Allah when he does not answer you." We could see that revelation was descending upon him. Then he wiped the sweat off himself and said: "Where is the questioner?" — and it seemed as though he praised him — "Indeed, good does not bring about evil. This wealth is sweet and green. Blessed is the wealth of a Muslim from which he gives to the poor, the orphan, and the wayfarer" — or as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said — "Whoever takes it without right is like the one who eats but is never satisfied, and it will be a witness against him on the Day of Resurrection." Narrated by al-Bukhari.
