وَعَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ أَحَبَّ دُنْيَاهُ أَضَرَّ بِآخِرَتِهِ وَمَنْ أَحَبَّ آخِرَتَهُ أَضَرَّ بِدُنْيَاهُ فَآثِرُوا مَا يَبْقَى عَلَى مَا يَفْنَى». رَوَاهُ أَحْمد وَالْبَيْهَقِيّ فِي «شعب الْإِيمَان»
English Translation
Abdullah ibn Mas'ud reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) slept on a reed mat, and it left marks on his body. He (Abdullah) said: "O Messenger of Allah, if only we could spread something soft for you." He said: "What have I to do with the world? I am in this world like a rider who rests under the shade of a tree, then departs and leaves it behind." Narrated by al-Tirmidhi.
Urdu Translation
ابوموسی رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا:”جس نے دنیا کو پسند کیا، اس نے آخرت کا نقصان کیا اور جس نے آخرت کو پسند کیا تو اس نے دنیا کو نقصان پہنچایا، تم باقی رہنے والی چیز کو فنا ہونے والی چیز پر ترجیح دو۔“اسنادہ ضعیف، رواہ احمد و البیھقی فی شعب الایمان۔[مشكوة المصابيح/كتاب الرقاق/حدیث: 5179]
