وَعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَسْأَلُ الْعَبْدَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَيَقُولُ: مَا لَكَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَ الْمُنْكَرَ فَلَمْ تُنْكِرْهُ؟ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: فَيُلَقَّى حُجَّتَهُ فَيَقُولُ: يَا رَبِّ خِفْتُ النَّاسَ وَرَجَوْتُكَ «. رَوَى الْبَيْهَقِيُّ الْأَحَادِيثَ الثَّلَاثَةَ فِي»شُعَبِ الْإِيمَانِ
English Translation
Abdullah ibn Mas'ud reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: "The first deficiency that affected the Children of Israel was when a man would meet another man and say: 'O so-and-so, fear Allah and leave what you are doing, for it is not lawful for you.' Then he would meet him the next day and that would not prevent him from eating, drinking, and sitting with him. When they did that, Allah struck the hearts of some of them with the hearts of others." Then he said: "Those of the Children of Israel who disbelieved were cursed by the tongue of Dawud and Isa ibn Maryam" until the end of the verse. Then he said: "No, by Allah, you must enjoin good, forbid evil, restrain the hand of the wrongdoer, force him to do right, and confine him to the truth — or else Allah will strike the hearts of some of you with the hearts of others, and then He will curse you as He cursed them."
Urdu Translation
ابوسعید رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا:”بے شک اللہ عزوجل روز قیامت بندے سے سوال کرتے ہوئے فرمائے گا: تجھے کیا ہوا تھا کہ جب تو نے برائی دیکھی تو تُو نے اسے کیوں نہیں روکا؟ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا:”اس کو اس کی دلیل سکھا دی جائے گی اور وہ عرض کرے گا: رب جی! میں لوگوں سے ڈر گیا اور تجھ سے امید رکھی۔“امام بیہقی نے تینوں احادیث شعب الایمان میں نقل کی ہیں۔ اسنادہ ضعیف، رواہ البیھقی فی شعب الایمان۔[مشكوة المصابيح/كتاب الآداب/حدیث: 5153]
