عَن شُرَيْح بن هَانِئ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ فَقَالَ: جَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَلَاثَةٌ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيَهُنَّ لِلْمُسَافِرِ وَيَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً لِلْمُقِيمِ. رَوَاهُ مُسلم
English Translation
Shuraih b. Hani' said, “I asked Hadrat 'Ali b. Abu Talib about wiping over the shoes and he replied that God’s messenger had appointed three days and nights as the period when a traveller may do it and one day and night as the period for one who is not travelling.” Muslim transmitted it.
Urdu Translation
حضرت شریح بن ہانی فرماتے ہیں: میں نے حضرت علی المرتضیٰ کرّم اللہ تعالیٰ وجہہ الکریم سے موزوں پر مسح کے بارے میں پوچھا۔ فرمایا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے مسافر کے لیے تین دن تین رات اور مقیم کے لیے ایک دن ایک رات مقرر فرمائی۔ (مسلم)
