Arabic (Original)
وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَزْوَةٍ غَزَاهَا يَقُولُ: «اسْتَكْثِرُوا مِنَ النِّعَالِ فَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَا يَزَالُ رَاكِبًا مَا انتعَلَ» . رَوَاهُ مُسلم
English Translation
Hadrat Jabir told that he heard the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) say on one of his expeditions, “Make a general practice of wearing sandals, for a man keeps riding as long as he wears sandals.” (The meaning is that wearing sandals makes movement easier and protects the feet lrom toughness or thorns on the road. So it is here compared with riding on an animal.) Muslim transmitted it.
Urdu Translation
حضرت جابر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں: میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو ایک غزوے میں فرماتے سنا: جوتے زیادہ رکھو کیونکہ آدمی جب تک جوتا پہنے ہوئے ہے گویا سوار ہے۔ (مسلم)
