Arabic (Original)
وَعَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَاطِبٍ الْجُمَحِيِّ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " فَصَلَ مَا بَيْنَ الْحَلَالِ وَالْحَرَامِ: الصَّوْتُ وَالدُّفُّ فِي النِّكَاحِ ". رَوَاهُ أَحْمد وَالتِّرْمِذِيّ وَالنَّسَائِيّ وَابْن مَاجَه
English Translation
Muhammad b. Hatib al-Jumahi reported the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) as saying, “The distinction between what is lawful and what is unlawful is the song and the tambourine at a wedding.” Ahmad, Tirmidhi, Nasa’i and Ibn Majah transmitted it.
Urdu Translation
حضرت محمد بن حاطب جمحی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نبی صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے روایت فرماتے ہیں کہ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: حلال اور حرام میں فرق آواز (گانے) اور دف کا نکاح میں (بجانا) ہے۔ (احمد، ترمذی، نسائی، ابن ماجہ)
