Arabic (Original)
وَعَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ عَلَى صُبْرَةِ طَعَامٍ فَأَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ فِيهَا فَنَالَتْ أَصَابِعُهُ بَلَلًا فَقَالَ: «مَا هَذَا يَا صَاحِبَ الطَّعَامِ؟» قَالَ: أَصَابَتْهُ السَّمَاءُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ: «أَفَلَا جَعَلْتَهُ فَوْقَ الطَّعَامِ حَتَّى يَرَاهُ النَّاسُ؟ مَنْ غَشَّ فَلَيْسَ مني» . رَوَاهُ مُسلم
English Translation
He said that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) once came upon a heap of grain, and when he put his hand into it his fingers felt some dampness, so he asked the owner of the grain how that came about. On being told that rain had fallen on it he said, "Why did you not put the damp part on the top of the grain so that people might see it? He who deceives has nothing to do with me." Muslim transmitted it.
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم غلّے کے ایک ڈھیر کے پاس سے گزرے تو اپنا ہاتھ اس میں ڈالا، انگلیوں کو تری لگی۔ فرمایا: اے غلّے والے! یہ کیا ہے؟ اس نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! اس پر بارش پڑ گئی تھی۔ فرمایا: تو نے اسے اوپر کیوں نہ رکھا تاکہ لوگ دیکھ لیتے؟ جس نے دھوکا دیا وہ مجھ سے نہیں۔ (مسلم)
