Arabic (Original)
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا وَدَّعَ رَجُلًا أَخَذَ بِيَدِهِ فَلَا يَدَعُهَا حَتَّى يَكُونَ الرَّجُلُ هُوَ يَدَعُ يَدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَيَقُولُ: «أَسْتَوْدِعُ اللَّهَ دِينَكَ وَأَمَانَتَكَ وَآخِرَ عَمَلِكَ» وَفِي رِوَايَة «خَوَاتِيم عَمَلِكَ» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ وَابْنُ مَاجَهْ وَفِي روايتهما لم يذكر: «وَآخر عَمَلك»
English Translation
Hadrat Ibn ‘Umar told that when the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated farewell to a man he took him by the hand and did not let it go till the man let go the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)’s hand, and he would say, “I entrust to God your religion, what you are responsible for, and your last deeds.” A version has “Your final deeds.”* *The text of the tradition has akhira 'amalika and the version khawatima 'amalika, Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah transmitted it, but in the version of the last two “your last deeds” is not mentioned.
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم جب کسی آدمی کو الوداع کرتے تو اس کا ہاتھ پکڑتے اور نہ چھوڑتے یہاں تک کہ وہ آدمی خود نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کا ہاتھ چھوڑتا اور فرماتے: میں اللہ کے سپرد کرتا ہوں تیرا دین، تیری امانت اور تیرا آخری عمل۔ ایک روایت میں ہے: تیرے اعمال کا خاتمہ۔ (ترمذی، حضرت ابوداؤد، ابن ماجہ)
