Arabic (Original)
وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ رَجُلًا عَلَى سَرِيَّةٍ وَكَانَ يَقْرَأُ لأَصْحَابه فِي صلَاتهم فيختم ب (قل هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ) فَلَمَّا رَجَعُوا ذَكَرُوا ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «سَلُوهُ لِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ يَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ» فَسَأَلُوهُ فَقَالَ لِأَنَّهَا صفة الرَّحْمَن وَأَنا أحب أَن أَقرَأ بِهَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَخْبِرُوهُ أَن الله يُحِبهُ»
English Translation
‘Ā’isha said that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) sent a man in charge of an expedition and he would recite for his companions during their prayer, finishing with “Say, He is God, One.” When they returned they mentioned that to the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), and he told them to ask him why he did that. They asked him and he replied, “Because it is a description of the Compassionate One, and I like to recite it.” Then the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated, “Tell him that God loves him.” (Bukhārī and Muslim.)
Urdu Translation
حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا فرماتی ہیں کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ایک شخص کو ایک مہم کا سربراہ بنا کر بھیجا۔ وہ اپنے ساتھیوں کو نماز میں قرآن پڑھاتے اور سورۃ اخلاص پر ختم کرتے۔ جب واپس آئے تو لوگوں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو بتایا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: اس سے پوچھو ایسا کیوں کرتا ہے؟ پوچھا گیا تو اس نے کہا: یہ رحمٰن کی صفت ہے اور مجھے اسے پڑھنا پسند ہے۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اسے بتاؤ کہ اللہ اس سے محبت فرماتا ہے۔ (بخاری و مسلم)
