و حَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِك عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ أَنَّ نَاسًا مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ سَأَلُوا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَعْطَاهُمْ ثُمَّ سَأَلُوهُ فَأَعْطَاهُمْ حَتَّى نَفِدَ مَا عِنْدَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَا يَكُونُ عِنْدِي مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَلَنْ أَدَّخِرَهُ عَنْكُمْ وَمَنْ يَسْتَعْفِفْ يُعِفَّهُ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ يَسْتَغْنِ يُغْنِهِ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ يَتَصَبَّرْ يُصَبِّرْهُ اللَّهُ وَمَا أُعْطِيَ أَحَدٌ عَطَاءً هُوَ خَيْرٌ وَأَوْسَعُ مِنْ الصَّبْرِ.
English Translation
Malik said that it was not permissible for a slave to buy himself from his master on the provision that he could give the wala' to whomever he wished as the wala' was for the one who set him free, and that had a man given permission to his mawla to give the wala' to whomever he wished, that would not have been permitted, because the Beloved Messenger of Allah had said, "The wala' is for the one who sets free. " The Beloved Messenger of Allah forbade selling or giving away the wala'. For if it was permitted to the master to stipulate that for him and to give him permission to give the wala' to whomever he liked, that would be a gift.
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوسعید خدری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ انصار کے کچھ لوگوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے سوال کیا تو آپ نے انہیں دیا، پھر سوال کیا تو دیا یہاں تک کہ آپ کے پاس جو کچھ تھا ختم ہو گیا۔ پھر ارشاد فرمایا: جو مال میرے پاس ہوتا ہے میں تم سے جمع نہیں کرتا (یعنی نہیں بچاتا)۔
