حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيْمَنُ بْنُ نَابِلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يُعَلِّمُنَا التَّشَهُّدَ كَمَا يُعَلِّمُنَا السُّورَةَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ " بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ وَبِاللَّهِ، التَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ وَالصَّلَوَاتُ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ لِلَّهِ، السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ، السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى عِبَادِ اللَّهِ الصَّالِحِينَ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ الْجَنَّةَ، وَأَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ النَّارِ " .
English Translation
It was narrated that Jabir bin Hadrat 'Abdullah said:“The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to teach us the Tashah-hud as he used to teach us a Surah from the Qur’an: ‘Bismillahi wa Billahi; at-tahiyyatu lillahi was-salawatu wat-tayyibatu lillahi; as-salamu ‘alayka ayyuhan- Nabiyyu wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu; as-salamu ‘alayna wa ‘ala ‘ibadillahis-salihin. Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah wa ashhadu anna Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)an ‘abduhu wa rasuluhu. As’alu Allahal-jannah, wa a’udhu billahi minannar (In the name of Allah and by the grace of Allah. All compliments are due to Allah and all prayers and good words are due to Allah. Peace be upon you, O the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), and the mercy of Allah and His blessings; peace be upon us and upon the righteous slaves of Allah. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) is His slave and Messenger. I ask Allah for Paradise and I seek refuge with Allah from the Fire).’”
Urdu Translation
حضرت جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ہمیں تشہد اسی طرح سکھاتے تھے جیسے قرآن مجید کی سورت سکھاتے تھے: «بسم الله وبالله، التحيات لله والصلوات والطيبات لله، السلام عليك أيها النبي ورحمة الله وبركاته، السلام علينا وعلى عباد الله الصالحين، أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وأشهد أن محمدا عبده ورسوله، أسأل الله الجنة وأعوذ بالله من النار» اللہ کے نام سے اور اللہ ہی کی مدد سے، تمام عبادات اور تمام نمازیں اور تمام پاکیزہ عبادات اللہ ہی کے لیے ہیں، اے نبی! آپ پر سلام ہو اور اللہ کی رحمت اور اس کی برکات ہوں، ہم پر سلام ہو اور اللہ کے نیک بندوں پر سلام ہو، میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں اور میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ محمد (صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اللہ کے بندے اور رسول ہیں، میں اللہ تعالیٰ سے جنت کا سوال کرتا ہوں اور آگ سے اللہ تعالیٰ کی پناہ مانگتا ہوں۔
