حَدَّثَنَاعَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ، قَالَ: أَنَاعِيسَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ يُونُسَ، عَنْشُعْبَةَ، عَنْمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، عَنْأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَرَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَوْ قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، شَكَّ شُعْبَةُ:" صُومُوا لِرُؤْيَتِهِ وَأَفْطِرُوا لِرُؤْيَتِهِ، فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْكُمْ فَعُدُّوا ثَلاثِينَ".
English Translation
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) — or he said: Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, Shu'bah was unsure — "Fast when you see it (the crescent) and break your fast when you see it, and if it is obscured from you, then count thirty days."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمیا ابوالقاسمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا (شعبہ کو شک ہے): چاند دیکھ کر روزہ رکھو اور چاند دیکھ کر روزہ افطار کرو، اگر مطلع ابر آلود ہو تو تیس دن گن لو۔[المنتقى ابن الجارود/كتاب الصيام/حدیث: 376]
