English Translation
Hadrat Jabir ibn 'Abdillah (may Allah be well pleased with both father and son) narrated: The wife of Sa'd ibn al-Rabi' came with her two daughters from Sa'd to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, these are the two daughters of Sa'd ibn al-Rabi'. Their father was martyred with you on the Day of Uhud, and their uncle has taken all their wealth and left them nothing. And a woman is not married except for her wealth." He stated: "Allah will judge in this matter." Then the verse of inheritance was revealed. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) sent for the uncle and stated: "Give the two daughters of Sa'd two-thirds, give their mother one-eighth, and what remains is yours."
