English Translation
Hadrat Sahl ibn al-Hanzaliyyah (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) attempted to make something permissible, but it grieved the people. Hadrat Bilal (may Allah be well pleased with him) came to him while he was praying and called him. He gestured to him: "I am praying." He said: "I have found in the Book of Allah: 'And whoever turns away from My remembrance will have a depressed life' [20:124]." So the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) came out to the people and forbade it. He stated: "Indeed, it had been made permissible for you to visit women. But indeed, Allah has forbidden that until the Day of Resurrection. So whoever has any of them (female captives from the enemy), let him release her. And do not take back anything you have given them."
