أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُقْرِئُ عَنْ حَيْوَةَ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ هُبَيْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي تَمِيمٍ الْجَيْشَانِيِّ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ
English Translation
Ahmad bin Ali bin al-Muthanna narrated to us, Affan narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us from Thabit from Anas who said: A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: O Messenger of Allah, I love you. He said: 'Consider what you are saying.' He said: By Allah, I love you - three times. He said: 'If you love me, then prepare for poverty an apron, for poverty will come to you faster than a flood from a high place to a low place.'
