Hadrat Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be well pleased with her) narrated: When the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) halted at Dhi Tuwa, Abu Quhafah said to a daughter of his, one of his youngest children: "O my daughter, take me up to Abu Qubays." She said: His eyesight had been lost. She took him up there. He said: "O daughter, what do you see?" She said: "I see a dark mass gathered together." He said: "Those are the cavalry." She said: "And I see a man going back and forth before that mass." He said: "That, my daughter, is the commander who directs the cavalry and leads them." Then she said: "By Allah, the dark mass has spread out." He said: "By Allah, the cavalry has been dispatched. Take me quickly to my house." She hurried down with him, but the cavalry caught up with him before he reached his house. The girl had a silver necklace on her neck, and a man snatched it from her neck. When the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) entered and went into the mosque, Hadrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be well pleased with him) brought his father, leading him. When the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) saw him, he stated: "Why did you not leave the old man in his house so that I could have come to him?" Hadrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah, it is more fitting for him to walk to you than for you to walk to him." He seated him before him, then stroked his chest and stated to him: "Accept Islam," and he accepted Islam. Hadrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be well pleased with him) brought him to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) with his head white as thaghamah plant. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Change the color of his hair." Then Hadrat Abu Bakr stood and took his sister by the hand and said: "I adjure you by Allah and by Islam, return my sister's necklace!" But no one answered. He said: "O dear sister, count your necklace as lost, for indeed trustworthiness among people today is scarce."
Urdu Translation
حضرت اسماء بنت ابی بکر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا بیان کرتی ہیں: جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ذی طویٰ پر رکے تو ابو قحافہ نے اپنی ایک چھوٹی بیٹی سے کہا: بیٹی! مجھے ابو قبیس پر لے چلو۔ ان کی بینائی جا چکی تھی۔ وہ انہیں لے کر اوپر گئیں۔ انہوں نے کہا: بیٹی کیا دیکھتی ہو؟ کہا: ایک سیاہ مجمع نظر آتا ہے۔ کہا: وہ لشکر ہے۔ کہا: اور ایک آدمی اس مجمع کے آگے ادھر ادھر دوڑ رہا ہے۔ کہا: بیٹی وہ سالار ہے جو لشکر کو حکم دیتا ہے اور آگے بڑھاتا ہے۔ پھر کہا: واللہ! سیاہ مجمع پھیل گیا۔ کہا: واللہ لشکر چل پڑا، جلدی مجھے گھر لے چلو۔ وہ جلدی سے اتریں لیکن گھر پہنچنے سے پہلے لشکر نے انہیں جا لیا۔ لڑکی کے گلے میں چاندی کا طوق تھا، ایک آدمی نے اسے چھین لیا۔ جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم داخل ہوئے اور مسجد میں تشریف لائے تو حضرت ابوبکر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ اپنے والد کو لے کر آئے۔ جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے انہیں دیکھا تو فرمایا: «بزرگ کو گھر میں کیوں نہ چھوڑ دیا تاکہ میں خود ان کے پاس جاتا۔» حضرت ابوبکر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! یہ آپ کے پاس آنے کے زیادہ حقدار ہیں بہ نسبت اس کے کہ آپ ان کے پاس جائیں۔ آپ نے انہیں اپنے سامنے بٹھایا، سینہ پر ہاتھ پھیرا اور فرمایا: اسلام قبول کرو، تو انہوں نے اسلام قبول کیا۔ حضرت ابوبکر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ انہیں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس لائے تو ان کا سر ثغامہ (ایک سفید پودا) کی طرح سفید تھا۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا: «ان کے بالوں کا رنگ بدل دو۔» پھر حضرت ابوبکر کھڑے ہوئے اور اپنی بہن کا ہاتھ پکڑ کر کہا: اللہ اور اسلام کا واسطہ دے کر کہتا ہوں، میری بہن کا طوق واپس کرو! کسی نے جواب نہ دیا۔ انہوں نے کہا: بہنا! اپنا طوق اللہ کے حساب پر رکھو، واللہ آج لوگوں میں امانت بہت کم ہے۔
