أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ إِيَاسِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَدِمْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْحُدَيْبِيَةَ ثُمَّ خَرَجْنَا رَاجِعِينَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «خَيْرُ فُرْسَانِنَا الْيَوْمَ أَبُو قَتَادَةَ وَخَيْرُ رَجَّالَتِنَا الْيَوْمَ سَلَمَةُ بْنُ الْأَكْوَعِ» ثُمَّ أَعْطَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ سَهْمَ الْفَارِسِ وَسَهْمَ الرَّاجِلِ
English Translation
Hadrat Salamah ibn al-Akwa' (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated: We came with the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) to Hudaybiyyah, then set out returning to Madinah. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "The best of our horsemen today is Abu Qatadah, and the best of our foot soldiers today is Salamah ibn al-Akwa'." Then the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) gave me both the share of a horseman and the share of a foot soldier.
Urdu Translation
حضرت سلمہ بن اکوع رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے: ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے ساتھ حدیبیہ آئے، پھر مدینہ واپس نکلے۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا: «آج ہمارا بہترین سوار ابو قتادہ ہے اور ہمارا بہترین پیدل سلمہ بن اکوع ہے۔» پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے مجھے سوار اور پیدل دونوں کا حصہ عطا فرمایا۔
