أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ مِنْ كِتَابِهِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ السَّدُوسِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ خِرَاشٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْعَوَّامُ بْنُ حَوْشَبٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ «لَمَّا أَسْلَمَ عُمَرُ أَتَى جِبْرِيلُ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ لَقَدِ اسْتَبْشَرَ أَهْلُ السَّمَاءِ بِإِسْلَامِ عُمَرَ
English Translation
Ibn Abbas narrated: 'When Umar accepted Islam, Jibril (peace be upon him) came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: O Muhammad, the inhabitants of heaven have rejoiced at the Islam of Umar.'
