أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ زُهَيْرٍ بِتُسْتَرَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْبَرَاءِ الْغَنَوِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ حَازِمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ خَطَبَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ بِالْجَابِيَةِ قَالَ قَامَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَقَامِي فِيكُمُ الْيَوْمَ فَقَالَ «أَحْسِنُوا إِلَى أَصْحَابِي ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَفْشُو الْكَذِبُ حَتَّى يَشْهَدَ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى الْيَمِينِ لَا يُسْأَلُهَا فَمَنْ أَرَادَ بُحْبُوحَةَ الْجَنَّةِ فَلْيَلْزَمِ الْجَمَاعَةَ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ مَعَ الْوَاحِدِ وَهُوَ مِنَ الِاثْنَيْنِ أَبْعَدُ وَلَا يَخْلُوَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ بِالْمَرْأَةِ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ ثَالِثُهُمَا وَمَنْ سَرَّتْهُ حَسَنَتُهُ وَسَاءَتْهُ سَيِّئَتُهُ فَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ»
English Translation
Ahmad ibn Yahya ibn Zuhayr in Tustar informed us, Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Yazid ibn al-Bara' al-Ghanawi narrated to us, Abd al-A'la narrated to us from Hisham ibn Hassan from Jarir ibn Hazim from Abd al-Malik ibn Umayr from Jabir ibn Samurah who said: Umar ibn al-Khattab addressed us at al-Jabiyah. He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stood among us as I stand among you today and said: "Treat my Companions well, then those who follow them, then those who follow them. Then lying will spread until a man will testify to an oath without being asked. Whoever desires the heart of Paradise should adhere to the community, for Satan is with the one who is alone, and he is farther from two. Let none of you be alone with a woman, for Satan is the third of them. Whoever is pleased by his good deed and saddened by his bad deed, he is a believer."
