English Translation
Muzhir ibn Yahya ibn Thabit narrated to us in Wasit, the righteous sheikh: Abdullah ibn Ishaq al-Naqid narrated to us: Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us: Jarir ibn Hazim informed us: Muhammad ibn Sirin narrated to us, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'None spoke in the cradle except three: Jesus son of Mary, and the companion of Jurayj. There was a man among the Children of Israel called Jurayj who built a hermitage and devoted himself to worshiping Allah in it. His mother came to him one day and called him, but he did not turn to her. Then she came to him a second day and called him, but he did not turn to her. Then she came to him a third day, and he said: My prayer or my mother? She said: O Allah, do not let him die until he looks at the faces of prostitutes. The Children of Israel mentioned Jurayj one day, and a prostitute from among the prostitutes of the Children of Israel said: If you wish, I will seduce him. They said: We wish it. So she went and presented herself to Jurayj, but he did not turn to her. She came to a shepherd who used to shelter at Jurayj's hermitage with his sheep, and she allowed herself to him. She became pregnant and gave birth to a boy. She said: He is from Jurayj. A group from the Children of Israel attacked him, beat him, insulted him, and demolished his hermitage. He said to them: What is the matter with you? They said: You committed adultery with this prostitute and she gave birth to a boy. He said: Where is the boy? They said: Here he is...'
