أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ مَوْهَبٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «رُبَّ أَشْعَثَ ذِي طِمْرَيْنِ لَوْ أَقْسَمَ عَلَى اللَّهِ لَأَبَرَّهُ»
English Translation
Ibn Qutaybah narrated to us: Yazid ibn Muwhib narrated to us: Ibn Wahb narrated to us, from Hafs ibn Maysarah, from al-'Ala' ibn Abd al-Rahman, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Many a disheveled person in two worn garments - if he were to swear by Allah, Allah would fulfill his oath.'
