أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يُدْعَى نُوحٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَيَقُولُ لَبَّيْكَ وَسَعْدَيْكَ يَا رَبِّ فَيَقُولُ هَلْ بَلَّغْتَ؟ فَيَقُولُ نَعَمْ يَا رَبِّ فَيَقُولُ لِأُمَّتِهِ هَلْ بَلَّغَكُمْ؟ فَيَقُولُونَ مَا أَتَانَا مِنْ نَذِيرٍ فَيُقَالُ مَنْ يَشْهَدُ لَكَ؟ فَيَقُولُ مُحَمَّدٌ ﷺ وَأُمَّتُهُ» قَالَ ﷺ «فَيَشْهَدُونَ أَنَّهُ قَدْ بَلَّغَ وَيَكُونُ الرَّسُولُ عَلَيْهِمْ شَهِيدًا فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ {وَكَذَلِكَ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا لِتَكُونُوا شُهَدَاءَ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَيَكُونَ الرَّسُولُ عَلَيْكُمْ شَهِيدًا} » وَالْوَسَطُ الْعَدْلُ
English Translation
Abu Ya'la narrated to us, he said: Abu Khaythamah narrated to us, he said: Jarir narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Sa'id, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Noah will be called on the Day of Resurrection and he will say: At your service and ready, O Lord. He will say: Did you convey the message? He will say: Yes, O Lord. He will say to his nation: Did he convey the message to you? They will say: No warner came to us. It will be said: Who will testify for you? He will say: Muhammad ﷺ and his nation.' He ﷺ said: 'They will testify that he conveyed the message, and the Messenger will be a witness over them. That is His saying: {And thus We have made you a just nation that you will be witnesses over the people and the Messenger will be a witness over you.}' And 'just' means 'fair.'
