أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُوسَى بِعَسْكَرِ مُكْرَمٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ «أَرَادَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَنْ يَنْهَى أَنْ يُسَمَّى بِبَرَكَةَ وَأَفْلَحَ وَيَسَارٍ وَنَافِعٍ وَنَحْوِ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ رَأَيْتُهُ سَكَتَ عَنْهَا بَعْدُ فَلَمْ يَقُلْ شَيْئًا وَقُبِضَ ﷺ ثُمَّ أَرَادَ عُمَرُ أَنْ يَنْهَى عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَتَرَكَهُ»
English Translation
Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated from the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) who stated: «Gabriel came to me and said: 'I came to you last night, and nothing prevented me from entering except that there were statues at the door of the house, and there was a curtain with pictures in the house, and there was a dog in the house. So command that the head of the statue be cut off so that it becomes like the form of a tree, and command that the curtain be cut and made into two floor cushions to be sat upon, and command that the dog be removed.' So the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) did so.»
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے روایت ہے کہ آپ نے فرمایا: «جبریل میرے پاس آئے اور کہا: میں کل رات آپ کے پاس آیا تھا اور داخل ہونے سے مجھے کوئی چیز نہیں روک سکی سوائے اس کے کہ گھر کے دروازے پر مجسمے تھے، اور گھر میں تصویروں والا پردہ تھا، اور گھر میں کتا تھا۔ تو حکم دیں کہ مجسمے کا سر کاٹ دیا جائے تاکہ یہ درخت کی شکل کی طرح ہو جائے، اور حکم دیں کہ پردہ کاٹ کر دو تکیے بنا دیے جائیں جن پر بیٹھا جائے، اور حکم دیں کہ کتے کو نکال دیا جائے۔ تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ایسا ہی کیا۔»
