English Translation
Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn al-Junayd informed us, he said: Qutayba ibn Sa'id narrated to us, he said: Abu Awana narrated to us, from Abu Bishr, from Nafi', from Ibn Umar, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ adopted a gold ring and would place its stone on the inside of his palm. So the people adopted gold rings. Then one day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ threw it away, so the people threw away their rings. Then he adopted a silver ring, and he would seal with it but not wear it.
