Hadrat al-Nawwas ibn Sam'an al-Kilabi (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) mentioned the Dajjal one morning and described him as both insignificant and significant, until we thought he was in a cluster of date-palms. When we came to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) in the evening, he perceived that in us, so he asked: «What is the matter with you?» We said: O Messenger of Allah, you mentioned the Dajjal this morning, describing him as both insignificant and significant, until we thought he was in a cluster of date-palms. He stated: «I fear for you other than the Dajjal. If he emerges while I am among you, I will be his adversary on your behalf. And if he emerges after I am gone, then Allah is my successor over every Muslim. He is a young man with curly hair and a protruding eye — I liken him to Abd al-Uzza ibn Qatan. Whoever among you sees him should recite over him the opening verses of Surah al-Kahf. He will emerge from a path between Syria and Iraq, and will cause corruption right and left. O servants of Allah, remain firm!» We said: O Messenger of Allah, how long will he remain on the earth? He stated: «Forty days: one day like a year, one day like a month, one day like a week, and the rest of his days like your days.» We said: O Messenger of Allah, the day that is like a year — will the prayers of one day suffice us in it? He stated: «No, estimate the time for it.» We said: How swiftly will he move through the earth? He stated: «Like a cloud driven by the wind. He will come to a people and call them, and they will believe in him and respond to him. He will command the sky and it will rain, and the earth and it will produce vegetation, and their livestock will come back to them with the longest necks, the fullest udders, and the most extended sides. Then he will come to another people and call them, but they will reject his call, so he will depart from them. They will wake up destitute, with nothing of their wealth remaining in their hands. He will pass by a ruin and say to it: Bring forth your treasures! And its treasures will follow him like swarms of bees. Then he will summon a man in the prime of his youth, strike him with a sword and cut him into two pieces like a shot at a target. Then he will call him and he will come forward laughing, his face beaming with joy, and while he is in that state, Allah the Exalted will send down the Messiah son of Maryam. He will descend at the white minaret in the east of Damascus, wearing two garments dyed with saffron, placing his hands on the wings of two angels. When he lowers his head, drops will fall from it, and when he raises it, something like pearls will scatter from it. No disbeliever who smells his fragrance will survive, and his fragrance will reach as far as his sight extends. He will pursue him (the Dajjal) until he catches up with him at the gate of Ludd and kills him. Then people will come to 'Isa ibn Maryam — a people whom Allah has protected from him — and he will wipe their faces and inform them of their ranks in Paradise. While they are in that state, Allah will reveal to 'Isa ibn Maryam: I have brought forth from among My servants people against whom no one has the power to fight, so take My servants to safety at Mount Tur. Then Allah will send Ya'juj and Ma'juj, and they will swarm down from every slope. The first of them will pass by the Lake of Tiberias and drink from it, and the last of them will pass by it and say: There was once water here. 'Isa the Prophet of Allah and his Companions will be besieged until the head of an ox will be more beloved to one of them than a hundred dinars are to you today. Then 'Isa the Prophet of Allah and his Companions will supplicate to Allah, so Allah will send upon them (Ya'juj and Ma'juj) worms in their necks, and they will all perish like a single soul dies. Then 'Isa the Prophet of Allah and his Companions will come down to the earth, and they will not find on the earth a single handspan that is not filled with their putrefaction and stench. 'Isa the Prophet of Allah and his Companions will supplicate to Allah, and Allah will send birds with necks like the necks of Bactrian camels, which will carry them away and throw them wherever Allah wills. Then Allah will send rain, and it will wash the earth until it leaves it like a mirror. Then the earth will be told: Bring forth your fruits and restore your blessing! On that day, a group of people will eat from a single pomegranate and seek shade under its peel, and the milk will be so blessed that a milch-camel will provide enough milk for a large group of people, a cow for a tribe, and a sheep for a clan. While they are in that state, Allah will send a pleasant wind that will seize them under their armpits, and it will take the soul of every believer and every Muslim. There will remain the worst of people who will engage in fornication like donkeys, and upon them the Hour will be established.»

حضرت نواس بن سمعان کلابی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ایک صبح دجال کا ذکر کیا اور اسے چھوٹا اور بڑا بیان کیا، یہاں تک کہ ہم نے سوچا کہ وہ کھجور کے جھنڈ میں ہے۔ جب ہم شام کو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس آئے تو آپ نے ہم میں یہ بات محسوس کی، تو آپ نے پوچھا: «تمہیں کیا ہو گیا ہے؟» ہم نے کہا: یا رسول اللہ! آپ نے آج صبح دجال کا ذکر کیا اور اسے چھوٹا اور بڑا بیان کیا، یہاں تک کہ ہم نے سوچا کہ وہ کھجور کے جھنڈ میں ہے۔ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: «مجھے تمہارے بارے میں دجال کے علاوہ کا خوف ہے۔ اگر وہ نکلے جبکہ میں تمہارے درمیان ہوں تو میں تمہاری طرف سے اس کا مقابلہ کروں گا۔ اور اگر وہ میرے جانے کے بعد نکلے تو اللہ تعالیٰ ہر مسلمان پر میرا جانشین ہے۔ وہ ایک نوجوان ہے گھنگریالے بالوں والا اور ابھری ہوئی آنکھ والا — میں اس کی مثال عبدالعزیٰ بن قطن سے دیتا ہوں۔ تم میں سے جو اسے دیکھے تو اس پر سورۃ الکہف کی ابتدائی آیات پڑھے۔ وہ شام اور عراق کے درمیان کے راستے سے نکلے گا، اور دائیں بائیں فساد پھیلائے گا۔ اے اللہ کے بندو! ثابت قدم رہو!» ہم نے کہا: یا رسول اللہ! وہ زمین میں کتنی دیر رہے گا؟ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: «چالیس دن: ایک دن سال کے برابر، ایک دن مہینے کے برابر، ایک دن ہفتے کے برابر، اور باقی دن تمہارے دنوں کے برابر۔» ہم نے کہا: یا رسول اللہ! جو دن سال کے برابر ہو — کیا اس میں ایک دن کی نمازیں کافی ہوں گی؟ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: «نہیں، اس کے لیے اندازہ لگاؤ۔» ہم نے کہا: زمین میں اس کا چلنا کتنا تیز ہو گا؟ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: «ہوا سے اڑائے جانے والے بادل کی طرح۔ وہ ایک قوم کے پاس آئے گا اور انہیں پکارے گا، اور وہ اس پر ایمان لائیں گے اور اس کی دعوت قبول کریں گے۔ وہ آسمان کو حکم دے گا اور وہ برسے گا، اور زمین کو اور وہ سبزہ اگائے گی، اور ان کے مویشی ان کے پاس سب سے لمبی گردنوں، سب سے بھرے ہوئے تھنوں، اور سب سے پھیلے ہوئے پہلووں کے ساتھ واپس آئیں گے۔ پھر وہ دوسری قوم کے پاس آئے گا اور انہیں پکارے گا، لیکن وہ اس کی دعوت رد کر دیں گے، تو وہ ان سے چلا جائے گا۔ وہ بے چیز اٹھیں گے، ان کے ہاتھوں میں ان کے مال میں سے کچھ باقی نہیں رہے گا۔ وہ ایک کھنڈر سے گزرے گا اور اسے کہے گا: اپنے خزانے نکال! اور اس کے خزانے شہد کی مکھیوں کے جھنڈ کی طرح اس کے پیچھے ہو جائیں گے۔ پھر وہ ایک نوجوان کو اپنی جوانی کے عروج میں بلائے گا، اسے تلوار سے ماریں گا اور نشانے کی طرح دو ٹکڑوں میں کاٹ دے گا۔ پھر اسے بلائے گا اور وہ ہنستا ہوا آگے آئے گا، اس کا چہرہ خوشی سے چمک رہا ہو گا، اور جبکہ وہ اسی حالت میں ہو گا، اللہ تعالیٰ مسیح ابن مریم کو بھیجے گا۔ وہ دمشق کے مشرق میں سفید مینار پر اتریں گے، زعفران سے رنگے ہوئے دو کپڑے پہنے ہوئے، دو فرشتوں کے بازوؤں پر ہاتھ رکھے ہوئے۔ جب وہ اپنا سر نیچے کریں گے تو اس سے قطرے گریں گے، اور جب اٹھائیں گے تو موتیوں جیسی چیز بکھرے گی۔ کوئی کافر جو ان کی خوشبو سونگھے گا زندہ نہیں بچے گا، اور ان کی خوشبو اتنی دور تک پہنچے گی جتنی دور تک ان کی نگاہ جاتی ہے۔ وہ اس کا (دجال کا) پیچھا کریں گے یہاں تک کہ لد کے دروازے پر اس کو پکڑیں گے اور قتل کریں گے۔ پھر لوگ عیسیٰ ابن مریم کے پاس آئیں گے — ایسے لوگ جنہیں اللہ نے اس سے محفوظ رکھا ہے — اور وہ ان کے چہرے مسح کریں گے اور انہیں جنت میں ان کے درجات بتائیں گے۔ جبکہ وہ اسی حالت میں ہوں گے، اللہ تعالیٰ عیسیٰ ابن مریم کی طرف وحی کرے گا: میں نے اپنے بندوں میں سے ایسے لوگ نکالے ہیں جن سے لڑنے کی کسی کو طاقت نہیں، پس میرے بندوں کو کوہ طور پر پناہ میں لے جاؤ۔ پھر اللہ تعالیٰ یاجوج ماجوج کو بھیجے گا، اور وہ ہر اونچائی سے اتریں گے۔ ان میں سے پہلے طبریہ کی جھیل سے گزریں گے اور اسے پی لیں گے، اور آخری اس سے گزریں گے اور کہیں گے: یہاں کبھی پانی تھا۔ عیسیٰ نبی اللہ اور ان کے ساتھی محصور ہو جائیں گے یہاں تک کہ بیل کا سر ان میں سے کسی کو آج کے تمہارے سو دینار سے زیادہ محبوب ہو گا۔ پھر عیسیٰ نبی اللہ اور ان کے ساتھی اللہ سے دعا کریں گے، تو اللہ تعالیٰ ان (یاجوج ماجوج) کی گردنوں میں کیڑے بھیجے گا، اور وہ سب ایک جان کی طرح ہلاک ہو جائیں گے۔ پھر عیسیٰ نبی اللہ اور ان کے ساتھی زمین پر اتریں گے، اور انہیں زمین پر ایک بالشت بھی ایسی نہیں ملے گی جو ان کی سڑاند اور بدبو سے بھری نہ ہو۔ عیسیٰ نبی اللہ اور ان کے ساتھی اللہ سے دعا کریں گے، اور اللہ تعالیٰ ان پرندوں کو بھیجے گا جن کی گردنیں بختی اونٹوں کی گردنوں جیسی ہوں گی، جو انہیں اٹھا کر لے جائیں گے اور جہاں اللہ چاہے گا پھینک دیں گے۔ پھر اللہ تعالیٰ بارش بھیجے گا، اور وہ زمین کو دھو دے گی یہاں تک کہ اسے آئینے کی طرح چھوڑ دے گی۔ پھر زمین سے کہا جائے گا: اپنے پھل نکال اور اپنی برکت واپس لا! اس دن لوگوں کی ایک جماعت ایک انار سے کھائے گی اور اس کے چھلکے کے نیچے سایہ لے گی، اور دودھ میں اتنی برکت ہو گی کہ ایک دودھ دینے والی اونٹنی بڑی جماعت کو کافی ہو گی، ایک گائے قبیلے کو، اور ایک بکری خاندان کو۔ جبکہ وہ اسی حالت میں ہوں گے، اللہ تعالیٰ ایک خوشگوار ہوا بھیجے گا جو انہیں ان کی بغلوں کے نیچے سے پکڑے گی، اور ہر مومن اور ہر مسلمان کی روح لے لے گی۔ بدترین لوگ باقی رہیں گے جو گدھوں کی طرح زنا کریں گے، اور ان پر قیامت قائم ہو گی۔»
