أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا تَنْذِرُوا فَإِنَّ النَّذْرَ لَا يَرُدُّ مِنَ الْقَدْرِ شَيْئًا وَإِنَّمَا يُسْتَخْرَجُ بِهِ مِنَ الْبَخِيلِ»
English Translation
Hadrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrated that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) forbade shighar, and shighar is that a man gives his daughter in marriage on the condition that the other gives his daughter to him in marriage, without a mahr between them.
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے شغار سے منع فرمایا اور شغار یہ ہے کہ ایک آدمی اپنی بیٹی کا نکاح اس شرط پر کرے کہ دوسرا اپنی بیٹی کا نکاح اس سے کرے اور ان کے درمیان کوئی مہر نہ ہو۔
