أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مَطَرٍ عَنْ رَجَاءِ بْنِ حَيْوَةَ عَنْ قَبِيصَةَ بْنِ ذُؤَيْبٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ قَالَ لَا تُلْبِسُوا عَلَيْنَا سُنَّةَ نَبِيِّنَا ﷺ «عِدَّةُ أُمِّ الْوَلَدِ عِدَّةُ الْمُتَوَفَّى عَنْهَا زَوْجُهَا»
English Translation
Hadrat Amr ibn al-As (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: "Do not confuse the Sunnah of our Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) for us. The waiting period of the mother of a child (umm al-walad, i.e., a slave woman who bore her master's child, when the master dies) is the same as the waiting period of the woman whose husband dies (i.e., four months and ten days)."
Urdu Translation
حضرت عمرو بن عاص رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا: ہم پر ہمارے نبی صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی سنت میں التباس نہ ڈالو۔ اُمّ ولد (وہ باندی جس سے آقا کی اولاد ہو، جب آقا فوت ہو جائے) کی عدت وہی ہے جو شوہر کے مرنے والی عورت کی ہے (یعنی چار مہینے دس دن)۔
